We Survived! (dispite Shana's fears)

The Subway is awesome and I highly recommend it. 8 of us met Saturday morning at 4am and drove to Zion (we got a $82 ticket along the way). It took us longer than expected to get there and get our permits but we finally got started at 10:15. We were told at the back country desk that the water was excruciatingly cold and moving high and fast so we were a little nervous but it turned out that he was exaggerating slightly. It was very cold but our wetsuits made it a lot of fun, in the summer you dont need wetsuits but this time of year they're a must. The hike is long and tiring but the water and slot canyons make it all worth it. There was a good amount of water so we had to swim more then any other time I have done the hike (it was sweet). At the bowling ball boulder (see pics) we had to take off our backpacks to fit through the canyon as we swam. We were all freezing but it was a blast. Again, if your looking for a sweet hike you have to try the Subway. After 8 hours of hiking we drove home and crashed in bed. We are still feeling the hike 3 days later but it was well worth it.
