Melmo Grows Up

The Davidson's invited us to go with them to Melmo (as Ella says) Grows Up. It was really fun actually. Ella was so excited when the show started, I wasn't sure how she was going to react but she LOVED it. She was dancing, clapping and waving and the characters. Toward the end she got a little sick of it because it was past her bedtime. But all in all she did great. I'm glad that we went and I'm sure there are many more of these things to come:) I love this age because there are so many fun things to do with Ella. LOVE that girl.

Ella must think that its a little cold out..... but it was 90 degrees today. She was wearing my beanie most of the day, her head was even getting sweaty but she didn't care.

18 months

Oh my goodness..... my baby is 18 months already. WHERE has the time gone. She is such an amazing girl and we could not love her more. She has brought so much joy into our lives. So, to kick off turning 18 months she went to nursery for the first time. I brought her in, stayed a few minutes and left. I went back to look in the window, and she was sitting on the nursery leaders lap just looking around. Then I was talking to a girl in the hallway and her comes the nursery leader carrying Ella who is bawling her eyes out, snot and all. So I calmed her down and we went back in and I stayed with her and she did pretty good. She is a little timid around kids, especially that many. I am hoping she will like it and be more comfortable in a few weeks after I stay in there with her. There is a little bully in there that likes to eat all the kids snacks and gets in all of there faces. Poor Ella is just not used to that.
Today was her 18 month check up. Oh boy. Lets just say she knows why we go to the doctor now. She was fine in the reception area but as soon as we walked to the back it was over. The nurse just tried to weigh her and measure her head, doesn't sound to hard right? Well Ella freaked. Crying to the point where she couldn't catch her breath. Then I took her back to the room to wait for the doc so she calmed down. Well in walks the pediatrician and she cried the whole time he was in there, he said it is normal at this age. Then the nurse wanted to do the routine hearing and vision test so we walk out of the room and as soon as Ella spotted the nurse she lost it..... so the nurse put on her chart, "patient refuses testing," meaning Ella. :) Then comes the shots.... although when the nurse came back into our room Ella once again freaked so I don't even think she felt the shots. What a fun day. Poor Ella...... growing up is hard to do. She is 50th percentile for weight and 90th for height. The doc says she is tall and skinny.

Some of the things we love about our little girl:
-so adorable we can hardly stand it
-she knows what she wants
-she loves to have dance party's with us.... and just loves to dance on her own
-she has a great laugh
-she has the most gorgeous big brown eyes
-she still loves to cuddle
-she loves to read books....over and over again
-she loves her dolls and stuffed animals
-she has the cutest little run.... its a little wobbly
-she loves marshmallows
-she is talking up a storm
-she loves water and loves to be outside
-she loves to show off- and will balance on one foot while hamming it up
ok, the list could go on and on but I will spare you all. We love our little bug. She is awesome.

This is what she made at nursery... I know I am a dork but I love it even though it looks a little scary. It was her first little art project

The Gardens at Belagio

My Grandparents were in town for a week and it was nice to hang out with them. We were able to go to the Belagio and check out the garden. I love it, it always smells so good in there. It is amazing all the fresh flowers they have. They also had an atrium with these huge butterflies, which Ella liked. It was so neat. We were so glad we got to spend time with them:)

FAMILY DAY

Ella at breakfast:) Enjoying some apple juice (I rarely give her anything besides water or milk.... I know I am a mean mom:(

Where do I begin. So we had our whole Saturday planned out. Plans had changed a few times..... we had originally planned to go the the Clark County fair Saturdayafternoon and into the night. Then earlier this week Stewart told me they were having a picnic for school and wanted to go so we decided to hit the fair up in the early afternoon. BAD IDEA!!!! We went to breakfast then dove the 45 minutes two lane rode headed to the Podunk town. It went on for as long as you can see. We just kept saying.... "should we turn around," but we always felt like we were so close. Plus we didn't want to always wonder how close we were. Anyway the plan was to stay from 10-12:30... by the time we got to the fair it was after twelve and the line to get into the fair was ridiculously long. So we turned around at that point and I was so sad.... I had been looking forward to it for so long. I know it is weird, but I love carnival rides. The zipper, the kamikaze , I just love it. So we got back on the freeway and the cars were backed way up in the emergency lane, way more backed up then it had been earlier. Poor folks. But it was nice to have some time just to chat in the car.

Look at all these cars...... are you kidding me?

In the afternoon we had a picnic for Stewart's landscape architecture program. It was at sunset park and it was a beautiful day. Stewart was a little sad because there was no wind and he had big plans to fly the kite he bought for Ella. We had fun hanging out and watching the kids. There were three dogs and Ella had a love/ hate relationship with them. She would go up to them and laugh but as soon as they moved closer she would get scared and run away. Check out the picture of Ella eating her cookie..... or should I say check out the picture of Ella eating the m&m's off her cookie.

Giving each other smooches.... cutie pies Ella and Elliot

Hangin' with cousins

Danielle, Anna and I took the kids to the children's museum. It was our second trip but Danielle and Ainsley hadn't been there yet. They live in Utah and it isn't very often that Ella gets to see her only girl cousin. We had a great time again and I love to take Ella there. She loves it and gets so excited with all there is to do there. Especially when it comes to bubbles, water and balls. How can you go wrong? Ella loves her cousins:)

Horton Hears a Who

This is just a random picture, but Ella has discovered the shower. She loves it. So in the morning when I get ready I always have to make a little extra time because she now has to get in. She is also a little water hog and seriously just stands in the water and it takes a lot of effort to move her because she gets a little bit mad.

Now onto the important stuff..... Ella has been to her first real movie. Horton Hears A Who. It was cute but we had more fun watching her than the movie. She would laugh and point, and when one of the little characters stuck out his tongue Ella copied him. So cute. She was good the whole hour and forty minutes. She did have to be holding the bucket of popcorn the whole time though. She would put a handful in her mouth and not take her eye off the movie. We went with my Mom, and grandparents and we all had a great time watching her.

Hmmm.... which candy do I want

If you look close you can see her mesmerized by the big movie screen checking out the previews eating her popcorn from her box
